About

Daniel An

Daniel is a South Bay native. He attended Narbonne High School and graduated from Gardena High School. During high school, his extracurricular time was spent training at the IMB Academy (International Martial Arts & Boxing) in Carson and and learning tennis at Racquet Swingers in Lomita. Immediately after high school, he served active duty in the Marine Corps infantry and ascended to the position of platoon sergeant. During his enlistment, he also served with the military police and a direct action/counter terrorism unit. After his honorable discharge, Daniel attended and received his BA in political science, with a focus on political theory and philosophy, from the University of California, Berkeley. His professors included American Philosophers Thomas Nagel and Samuel Scheffler. He received his Juris Doctor from Chapman University School of Law.

Daniel began his legal career in San Francisco over 20 years ago assisting litigation attorneys in defense of major oil companies, collaborated with the Attorney General's Office in a Proposition 65 enforcement action, and also worked on the largest government contracts case in U.S. history at the time. In law school, Daniel clerked at the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office where he assisted deputy district attorneys with prosecuting homicide cases, meeting with victims' families, and participating in preliminary hearings. He sought a career in the law as a natural consequence of his desire to help people in need and his interest in civil litigation.

As an attorney, he has successfully litigated cases against transportation companies (bus, airline, railroad companies), insurance companies, school districts, grocery stores, major retail stores, gas stations, and state and federal agencies. He also has extensive experience with probate cases, trust administrations, estate plans and deeds, minor's compromises, and other civil matters. Daniel has appeared in both state and federal courts in the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.
